Dr. Ruud van den Beuken (1988) is theateronderzoeker en als universitair docent verbonden aan de Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen. Hij heeft verschillende prijzen en beurzen gewonnen, waaronder de Irish Society for Theatre Research (ISTR) New Scholars’ Prize (2015) voor zijn onderzoek naar postkoloniale mythologische toneelstukken en de Onderwijsprijs voor beste junior docent van de Faculteit der Letteren (Radboud Universiteit, 2017). In april 2017 kreeg hij zijn doctorstitel (cum laude) voor zijn proefschrift over cultureel geheugen en nationale identiteitsformatie in het Dublin Gate Theatre. Hij is assistant director van het door NWO gefinancieerde Gate Theatre Research Network en in februari/maart 2018 was hij als visiting research fellow werkzaam in het Moore Institute (National University of Ireland, Galway). Zijn monografie Avant-Garde Nationalism at the Dublin Gate Theatre, 1928-1940 is in 2020 bij Syracuse University Press verschenen.
